Chicken Table Egg Market Size in Estonia
For the fifth year in a row, the Estonian chicken table egg market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -4.4% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption recorded a pronounced contraction. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chicken table egg production dropped modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Estonia
For the third year in a row, Estonia recorded growth in shipments abroad of chicken table eggs, which increased by 68% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports saw a modest increase. The exports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, chicken table egg exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Lithuania (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main destinations of chicken table egg exports from Estonia, together comprising 93% of total exports. Denmark, Sweden and Finland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 6.4%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Sweden (with a CAGR of +126.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Lithuania ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for chicken table eggs exports from Estonia, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Latvia, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Lithuania stood at +33.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+5.6% per year) and Latvia (-16.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average chicken table egg export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Estonia
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in supplies from abroad of chicken table eggs, when their volume increased by 5% to X tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 30%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, chicken table egg imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Latvia (X tons) constituted the largest chicken table egg supplier to Estonia, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, chicken table egg imports from Latvia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), sevenfold. Lithuania (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Latvia amounted to +6.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+11.6% per year) and Lithuania (-11.8% per year).
In value terms, Latvia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of chicken table eggs to Estonia, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Lithuania, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Latvia stood at +7.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+11.1% per year) and Lithuania (-12.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average chicken table egg import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 32% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Poland ($X per ton) and Latvia ($X per ton), while the price for Finland ($X per ton) and Ukraine ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
