Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 2,867% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X kg in 2015, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, crabs, not frozen imports declined notably to $X in 2016. In general, imports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 831%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015, and then declined notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2016, France (X kg) was the main crabs, not frozen supplier to Estonia, accounting for a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, crabs, not frozen imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Denmark (X kg), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from France stood at +19.9%.

In value terms, France ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crabs, not frozen to Estonia, comprising 96% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Denmark ($X), with a 4% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from France stood at +14.6%.

Import Prices by Country

The average crabs, not frozen import price stood at $X per ton in 2016, picking up by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 113% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2016, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Denmark stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2016, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
