Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, diesel-electric and other locomotive imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, faced a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 294% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Russia (X units), Spain (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of diesel-electric and other locomotive imports to Estonia.
