Mixed Juices Market Size in Estonia

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Estonian mixed juices market, when its value decreased by -11.9% to $X. Overall, consumption recorded a pronounced descent. Over the period under review, the market attained the peak level at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices production surged to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the production volume increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports from Estonia

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices, when their volume decreased by -41.3% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 400%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices exports declined significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 240% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Finland (X tons) was the main destination for mixed juices exports from Estonia, with a 64% share of total exports. Moreover, mixed juices exports to Finland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Latvia (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Lithuania (X tons), with a 15% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Finland totaled +24.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Latvia (+2.4% per year) and Lithuania (+11.4% per year).

In value terms, Finland ($X) remains the key foreign market for mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices exports from Estonia, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Latvia ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Lithuania, with a 15% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Finland amounted to +18.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Latvia (+1.8% per year) and Lithuania (+10.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average mixed juices export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 9.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 58%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Estonia

In 2022, overseas purchases of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices decreased by -17.7% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 13%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices imports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 14%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Lithuania (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main suppliers of mixed juices imports to Estonia, together comprising 42% of total imports. Sweden, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Belgium, Spain and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Belgium (with a CAGR of +57.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Sweden ($X), Lithuania ($X) and Finland ($X) constituted the largest mixed juices suppliers to Estonia, together accounting for 50% of total imports. The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Latvia, Spain, Hungary and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

Among the main suppliers, Belgium, with a CAGR of +58.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average mixed juices import price amounted to $X per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mixed juices import price increased by +8.1% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 39% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the price for Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
