The exports peaked at X cubic meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, oriented strandboard (OSB) exports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 161% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Finland (X cubic meters), Latvia (X cubic meters) and Portugal (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of oriented strandboard (OSB) exports from Estonia, with a combined 82% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Latvia (with a CAGR of +88.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Finland ($X), Latvia ($X) and Norway ($X) constituted the largest markets for oriented strandboard (OSB) exported from Estonia worldwide, with a combined 76% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Sweden, Portugal, Iceland and Faroe Islands, which together accounted for a further 16%.
Among the main countries of destination, Iceland, with a CAGR of +110.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average oriented strandboard (OSB) export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, with a decrease of -7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 77%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per cubic meter. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Faroe Islands (+27.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Estonia
In 2022, imports of oriented strandboard (OSB) into Estonia skyrocketed to X cubic meters, rising by 18% against the year before. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +120.6% against 2012 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, oriented strandboard (OSB) imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 88%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per cubic meter, and then fell in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices from Latvia ($X per cubic meter) and Lithuania ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Russia ($X per cubic meter) and Poland ($X per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.
