In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of potato chips to Estonia, accounting for a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, potato chips imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Latvia (X tons), fourfold. Belgium (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Poland totaled +8.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Latvia (+3.9% per year) and Belgium (+28.0% per year).

In value terms, Poland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of potato chips to Estonia, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Lithuania, with an 8.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Poland amounted to +9.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (+42.7% per year) and Lithuania (-3.4% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average potato chips import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -2.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while the price for Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
