Imports into Ethiopia
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of amplifiers, when their volume decreased by -0.1% to X units. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 174% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, amplifier imports declined modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 186%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

China (X units), India (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of amplifier imports to Ethiopia, with a combined 71% share of total imports. The UK, Germany, the United States and Israel lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
