Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 171%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 182% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 174% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $X per ton in 2022, which is down by -2.6% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade.
