In value terms, wooden bedroom furniture exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 459% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X units) was the main destination for wooden bedroom furniture exports from Ethiopia, accounting for a 25% share of total exports. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X units), Turkey (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) were the main suppliers of wooden bedroom furniture imports to Ethiopia, together comprising 58% of total imports. Spain, Saudi Arabia, Italy, France, Ireland, India, Portugal and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
