Agricultural Appliance Market Size in the EU

For the fourth consecutive year, the EU agricultural appliance market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 4.1% to $X in 2021. The total consumption indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +53.1% against 2017 indices. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Agricultural Appliance Production in the EU

In value terms, agricultural appliance production reduced to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the production volume increased by 147% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Agricultural Appliance Exports

Exports in the EU

In 2021, the amount of agricultural appliances exported in the European Union amounted to X units, growing by 13% compared with 2020. Total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +69.6% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 54% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, agricultural appliance exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a mild decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Spain (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main exporters of agricultural appliances in the European Union, together reaching approx. 54% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Greece (X units), Austria (X units), France (X units) and Germany (X units), together creating a 32% share of total exports. The Netherlands (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +34.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Spain ($X) and France ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 55% share of total exports. Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.

Austria, with a CAGR of +6.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 2.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 51% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Greece ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+2.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Agricultural Appliance Imports

Imports in the EU

In 2021, supplies from abroad of agricultural appliances increased by 18% to X units, rising for the fourth consecutive year after two years of decline. Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +83.5% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 26%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, agricultural appliance imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a slight increase. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, France (X units), Italy (X units), Spain (X units), Germany (X units), Romania (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Hungary (X units), Poland (X units), Portugal (X units), Bulgaria (X units) and Slovakia (X units) was the major importer of agricultural appliances in the European Union, achieving 90% of total import.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +51.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest agricultural appliance importing markets in the European Union were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 40% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Italy, with a CAGR of +9.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 4.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by 18%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+6.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
