Poland (+4.5 p.p.), Greece (+2.7 p.p.), Slovenia (+2.5 p.p.) and Finland (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while France saw its share reduced by -2.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 59% of total exports. These countries were followed by Denmark, Poland, Belgium, Finland, Spain, France, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Greece, which together accounted for a further 35%.

Slovenia, with a CAGR of +20.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -7.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Greece ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
