The following exporters - France (X tons), Italy (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Latvia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) - together made up 17% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +29.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest twine product supplier in the European Union, comprising 27% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with an 8% share.
In Germany, twine product exports increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+15.2% per year) and France (+5.7% per year).

Imports by Country
Germany (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) represented roughly 42% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by France (X tons), Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Poland (X tons), together mixing up a 39% share of total imports. Sweden (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +18.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 48% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, Italy, Belgium, Poland and Sweden, which together accounted for a further 29%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +16.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 3.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 6.4%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
