The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Spain ($X) remains the largest baby clothes supplier in the European Union, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Spain stood at +11.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Poland (+18.4% per year) and France (-4.9% per year).

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, baby clothes imports expanded to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the six major importers of babies clothing and accessories (not knitted or crocheted), namely France, Spain, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and Italy, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Belgium (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Romania (X tons), Austria (X tons), Greece (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +17.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), Spain ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 53% share of total imports. Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Romania, Denmark and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.
Among the main importing countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +17.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 6.1%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Austria ($X per ton) and Denmark ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) and Belgium ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
