In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of blow lamps, when their volume decreased by -16.9% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 44%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.
In value terms, blow lamp exports fell sharply to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +46.9% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 34%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Germany represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at 41% of total exports. France (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by the Netherlands (X tons) and Estonia (X tons). All these countries together held near 42% share of total exports. The following exporters - Poland (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) - each reached a 9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to blow lamp exports from Germany stood at +5.9%. At the same time, the Netherlands (+15.4%), Denmark (+15.2%), Estonia (+8.5%), Poland (+7.6%) and France (+5.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +15.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Italy (-7.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+7.5 p.p.), Estonia (+2.1 p.p.) and Denmark (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Italy (-8.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest blow lamp supplier in the European Union, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Estonia ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 10% share.
In Germany, blow lamp exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Estonia (+10.2% per year) and France (-1.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 8.3% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of blow lamps, when their volume decreased by -15.4% to X tons. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +38.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, blow lamp imports contracted to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +48.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 32%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Imports by Country
Germany represented the largest importer of blow lamps in the European Union, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 42% of total imports in 2022. France (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 14% share, followed by Austria (7.4%) and the Netherlands (5.7%). Denmark (X tons), Poland (X tons), Italy (X tons), Romania (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Spain (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Germany increased at an average annual rate of +12.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Czech Republic (+23.7%), Spain (+11.7%), Poland (+8.6%), the Netherlands (+6.5%), Austria (+4.6%), Denmark (+3.1%), Italy (+2.2%), Estonia (+2.0%) and France (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Czech Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +23.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Sweden (-3.3%) and Romania (-9.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (+20 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Sweden (-2 p.p.), France (-5.5 p.p.) and Romania (-12 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported blow lamps in the European Union, comprising 39% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with a 5.8% share.
In Germany, blow lamp imports increased at an average annual rate of +11.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+5.9% per year) and Austria (+3.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
