Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, butanone imports surged to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +109.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In 2022, Belgium (X tons), Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons), France (X tons) and Spain (X tons) represented the largest importer of butanone (methyl ethyl ketone) in the European Union, comprising 88% of total import. Austria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
