The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. In 2022, Spain (X tons) represented the largest exporter of cauliflower and broccoli, creating 54% of total exports. In value terms, Spain ($X) remains the largest cauliflower and broccoli supplier in the European Union, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 10% share.

In terms of the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +13.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -10% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 17% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
