Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, imports of ceramic wares for laboratory or technical uses dropped markedly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +6.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Spain (X tons) was the key importer of ceramic wares for laboratory or technical uses, comprising 43% of total imports. Germany (X tons) held a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Poland (10%), Italy (10%) and France (7.3%).
