Over the period under review, imports saw a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, dissolving grade wood pulp imports reduced slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 10% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Moreover, the Czech Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +23.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Ireland (-2.9%), Sweden (-3.8%) and the Netherlands (-4.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
