The EU spacecraft market surged to $X in 2022, growing by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a strong expansion. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, spacecraft production expanded sharply to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, saw a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the production volume increased by 386% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, shipments abroad of civil spacecraft, satellites and launch vehicles increased by 554% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 2,245,740%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, spacecraft exports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. France prevails in exports structure, finishing at X units, which was approx. 90% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Spain (X units), generating a 7.9% share of total exports.

France was also the fastest-growing in terms of the civil spacecraft, satellites and launch vehicles exports, with a CAGR of +152.0% from 2012 to 2022. The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -92.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price faced a sharp reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 31,317%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Spain totaled $X per unit.

Spacecraft imports soared to X units in 2022, rising by 58% against the previous year. In general, imports enjoyed significant growth. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, spacecraft imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a sharp setback. Ireland dominates imports structure, amounting to X units, which was near 85% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Spain (X units), mixing up an 8.2% share of total imports. The following importers - Greece (X units) and Sweden (X units) - together made up 6.5% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to spacecraft imports into Ireland stood at +35.1%. At the same time, Greece (+5,819.5%), Spain (+154.3%) and Sweden (+70.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per unit), while Ireland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+137.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
