By contrast, France (-1.5%), Spain (-2.7%) and Italy (-6.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (+5.6 p.p.), the Netherlands (+3 p.p.) and Austria (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Italy (-5.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest concentrated pineapple juice importing markets in the European Union were the Netherlands ($X), Spain ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising 63% of total imports. France, Germany, Austria and Cyprus lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.

Among the main importing countries, Cyprus, with a CAGR of +14.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, concentrated pineapple juice import price increased by +93.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 37%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
