In value terms, crane exports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports by Country
Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) represented roughly 47% of total exports in 2022. Spain (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 9.9% share, followed by Austria (9%), the Netherlands (6.5%), France (6.1%) and Poland (4.8%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +7.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest crane supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Austria ($X), together accounting for 56% of total exports. Spain, the Netherlands, Poland and France lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +8.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 6.9%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +70.4% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
In value terms, crane imports shrank slightly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +15.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank slightly in the following year.

Germany (X units), the Netherlands (X units), France (X units), Belgium (X units), Austria (X units), Italy (X units), Portugal (X units), Sweden (X units), Poland (X units) and Spain (X units) represented roughly 82% of total imports in 2022.
