Exports by Country
The shipments of the three major exporters of desktop computers, namely Belgium, Poland and the Netherlands, represented more than two-thirds of total export. It was distantly followed by Germany (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units), together creating a 14% share of total exports. France (X units) and Romania (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +37.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest desktop computer supplying countries in the European Union were the Czech Republic ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Poland ($X), together comprising 72% of total exports.
Poland, with a CAGR of +47.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 41%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of desktop computers increased by 30% to X units, rising for the fourth year in a row after three years of decline. Total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +75.4% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Greece (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Greece (with a CAGR of +27.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest desktop computer importing markets in the European Union were the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and France ($X), together comprising 58% of total imports. Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, Belgium, Romania and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Greece, with a CAGR of +16.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 17% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 27%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+11.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
