The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons) represented roughly 54% of total exports in 2021. Spain (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by the Netherlands (7.3%), Austria (5.8%) and Belgium (4.7%). Portugal (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Portugal (with a CAGR of +7.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 24%. Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, disperse dye import price decreased by -2.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 13%.
