In 2021, Italy (X units) and Germany (X units) were the key exporters of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in the European Union, together recording approx. 52% of total exports. Denmark (X units) held an 8.9% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Sweden (7.5%), the Netherlands (5.3%), France (4.9%) and Poland (4.9%).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +4.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Denmark ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 62% of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, Sweden, France and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 21%.

Poland, with a CAGR of +6.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 7.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Sweden ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+5.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products, when their volume increased by 83% to X units. Overall, imports showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 118%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, agricultural product dryer imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 66%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Lithuania (X units) and Poland (X units) represented the major importers of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in 2021, resulting at near 18% and 15% of total imports, respectively. Romania (X units) took a 9.9% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Germany (8.6%), Sweden (8.3%), Belgium (8.1%), Hungary (6.8%) and France (4.8%). In value terms, the largest agricultural product dryer importing markets in the European Union were Poland ($X), Romania ($X) and Hungary ($X), with a combined 41% share of total imports. Germany, Lithuania, France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Sweden, Italy and Estonia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 43%.

In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -23.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 6.2%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($X per unit), while Sweden ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (-3.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
