The Czech Republic represented the main exporter of electric blankets in the European Union, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was near 48% of total exports in 2021. Belgium (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 22% share, followed by the Netherlands (12%), Germany (5.3%) and Hungary (4.5%). The following exporters - Poland (X units) and Sweden (X units) - each recorded a 3.6% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to electric blanket exports from the Czech Republic stood at -16.0%. At the same time, Belgium (+32.6%), Poland (+25.1%), Sweden (+14.1%), the Netherlands (+5.7%), Germany (+2.5%) and Hungary (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belgium emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +32.6% from 2012-2021. While the share of Belgium (+21 p.p.), the Netherlands (+9 p.p.), Germany (+3.6 p.p.), Hungary (+2.9 p.p.) and Poland (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the Czech Republic (-43.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the largest electric blanket supplier in the European Union, comprising 35% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Czech Republic stood at -9.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+9.5% per year) and the Netherlands (+9.2% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, surging by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 37%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +58.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +111.0% against 2016 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
