The EU capacitor market skyrocketed to $X in 2021, jumping by 35% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, capacitor exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2021, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Italy (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the largest exporters of electrical capacitors, together comprising 84% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +26.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest capacitor supplier in the European Union, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 11% share.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 1.7% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Austria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany totaled +7.5%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Czech Republic (+3.9% per year) and the Netherlands (+6.7% per year).

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 36% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
