As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) represented roughly 61% of total exports in 2021. Ireland (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 15% share, followed by Italy (5.1%). Austria (X units), France (X units) and Poland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +37.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Ireland ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 74% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Austria, Italy, France and Poland, which together accounted for a further 14%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +26.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 2.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 13%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Ireland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +65.1% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 25%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, diagnostic equipment imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 28%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) represented the largest importers of electro-diagnostic apparatus, and ultra-violet or infra-red ray apparatus in 2021, amounting to approx. 34% and 23% of total imports, respectively. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 13% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while Ireland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
