In 2022, overseas purchases of electromagnets and electromagnetic lifting heads increased by 0.7% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, electromagnetic lifting head imports declined to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +32.8% against 2019 indices. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to electromagnetic lifting head imports into Germany stood at +7.3%. At the same time, Romania (+13.1%), Poland (+7.5%), Italy (+4.1%), the Czech Republic (+3.0%) and France (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 57% share of total imports.
France, with a CAGR of +14.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -7.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
