By contrast, France (-1.7%) and Germany (-5.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Poland (+8.5 p.p.), Italy (+3.3 p.p.), Greece (+3.1 p.p.) and Luxembourg (+2.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of France (-1.8 p.p.) and Germany (-15.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Sweden ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 42% share of total exports. Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, Greece and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Luxembourg, with a CAGR of +32.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, surging by 7.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 10%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per unit), while Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
