Overall, exports, however, showed a noticeable curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons) was the major exporter of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons, constituting 50% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X tons), France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons), together generating a 39% share of total exports. The following exporters - Poland (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) - together made up 6.6% of total exports.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed notable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 52%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
