The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 18%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Croatia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 43%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fresh or chilled anchovies imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Croatia, with a CAGR of +40.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 9.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Croatia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
