The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +93.3% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 34%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 9.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Germany was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (-2.3% per year) and Poland (+6.5% per year).
