Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, solid fuel furnace burner production totaled $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 9.3%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports in the EU
In 2021, overseas shipments of furnace burners for solid fuel or gas increased by 3.1% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, solid fuel furnace burner exports fell to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 22%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell in the following year.
Exports by Country
Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together committing 70% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Romania (X tons), comprising a 7.4% share of total exports. The Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons), Belgium (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Austria (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Romania (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 81% of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Austria, Romania, France, Spain and Poland, which together accounted for a further 12%.
Romania, with a CAGR of +8.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -13.7% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+4.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Furnace Burners For Solid Fuel Or Gas
Imports in the EU
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of furnace burners for solid fuel or gas, when their volume increased by 36% to X tons. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, solid fuel furnace burner imports totaled $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands prevails in imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 62% of total imports in 2021. Belgium (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 6% share, followed by Italy (5.9%), Slovakia (5.3%) and Germany (5.2%). Poland (X tons) and France (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the furnace burners for solid fuel or gas imports, with a CAGR of +28.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belgium (+13.8%), Slovakia (+8.0%) and Germany (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Italy (-1.1%) and France (-6.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (+46 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Poland, Germany, France and Italy saw its share reduced by -4.4%, -4.6%, -7.7% and -9.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest solid fuel furnace burner importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), France ($X) and Slovakia ($X), together accounting for 38% of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland, which together accounted for a further 29%.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +11.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, waning by -18.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 9%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
