In value terms, glass fibre mat exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2022, Italy (X tons), distantly followed by France (X tons), Germany (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Poland (X tons) represented the major exporters of glass fibre mats, together constituting 81% of total exports. The following exporters - Denmark (X tons), Latvia (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) - each accounted for a 9.5% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +1.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 69% of total exports. Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands, Latvia and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.
Among the main exporting countries, Latvia, with a CAGR of +4.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, falling by -3.7% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 9.8% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then fell modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. X tons of glass fibre mats were imported in the European Union; dropping by -13.4% against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre mat imports fell to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 42%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons) and France (X tons) represented the largest importers of glass fibre mats in the European Union, together finishing at near 43% of total imports. Italy (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Poland (X tons) and Spain (X tons). All these countries together held near 28% share of total imports. The following importers - Denmark (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Hungary (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) - together made up 20% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Slovenia (with a CAGR of +11.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest glass fibre mat importing markets in the European Union were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 43% share of total imports. Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Belgium, Denmark and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.
Slovakia, with a CAGR of +15.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -1.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
