From 2012 to 2022, the share of Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium increased by +39, +13 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest gravure printing machinery supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together accounting for 95% of total exports. France, the Netherlands and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 3.8%.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +45.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 255% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+76.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in the EU
In 2022, overseas purchases of gravure printing machinery increased by 63% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed a measured expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 6,236% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, gravure printing machinery imports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. In value terms, Poland ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported gravure printing machinery in the European Union, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 3.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland amounted to -10.8%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+6.5% per year) and Italy (-6.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -70.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 3,651% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Greece ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (-1.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
