In value terms, metal hammer exports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +51.7% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Poland (X tons), France (X tons), Austria (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) represented the largest exporters of hammers and sledge hammers with working part of metal, together generating 86% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Austria (with a CAGR of +12.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 9.9%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+10.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of hammers and sledge hammers with working part of metal imported in the European Union amounted to X tons, standing approx. at the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +43.1% against 2014 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, metal hammer imports reduced slightly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +73.5% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, leveling off in the following year.

In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by France (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) represented the major importers of hammers and sledge hammers with working part of metal, together achieving 69% of total imports. The following importers - Austria (X tons), Romania (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Greece (X tons) - together made up 18% of total imports.
Imports into Germany increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Spain (+10.3%), the Netherlands (+7.8%), Greece (+7.6%), Austria (+5.7%), the Czech Republic (+4.4%), Romania (+4.1%), Italy (+3.9%), Denmark (+3.7%), Poland (+3.4%), Sweden (+2.8%) and France (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Spain emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +10.3% from 2012-2022. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Spain (+2.7 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of France (-1.7 p.p.), Germany (-2.7 p.p.) and Belgium (-3.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest metal hammer importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 46% share of total imports. Belgium, Poland, Austria, Spain, Italy, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Romania and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.
Spain, with a CAGR of +10.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 8.3% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
