Italy (X units) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Netherlands (11%), Poland (8.5%), Spain (7.3%), Austria (6.7%) and France (5%).

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Poland (+22.8%), France (+9.5%), Austria (+5.5%), the Netherlands (+3.0%) and Italy (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +22.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Spain (-2.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Poland (+6.8 p.p.) and France (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the Netherlands, Italy, Germany and Spain saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -2%, -2.2% and -6.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest hand sieve supplier in the European Union, comprising 41% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with an 8.6% share.

In Germany, hand sieve exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Italy (+6.9% per year) and France (+4.7% per year).

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 12% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, the amount of hand sieves and hand riddles imported in the European Union rose remarkably to X units, growing by 9.9% against the previous year. Overall, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, hand sieve imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the last decade. In 2022, Germany (X units), distantly followed by Slovakia (X units), Poland (X units), France (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Austria (X units) represented the major importers of hand sieves and hand riddles, together mixing up 74% of total imports. Italy (X units), Romania (X units), Spain (X units), Belgium (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Hungary (X units) held a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +44.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 5%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+3.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
