Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 13% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Italy (X units) and Germany (X units) represented roughly 40% of total exports in 2022. Sweden (X units) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Hungary (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), France (X units) and Spain (X units). All these countries together held approx. 40% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +6.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Sweden ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 50% of total exports. France, Hungary, Poland, Spain and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.

Hungary, with a CAGR of +9.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, surging by 3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 17%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, heat exchange unit imports rose notably to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Germany (X units), distantly followed by Italy (X units), France (X units), Slovakia (X units), Poland (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the key importers of heat exchange units, together making up 67% of total imports. In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported heat exchange units in the European Union, comprising 28% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Germany totaled +4.0%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+6.0% per year) and France (+4.1% per year).
