In 2022, Spain (X tons) represented the largest exporter of homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades, constituting 39% of total exports. Greece (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Italy (X tons), France (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 46% share of total exports. Germany (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to homogenised jam and marmalade exports from Spain stood at +6.1%. In value terms, Spain ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 63% share of total exports. Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +19.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 6.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 12%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, the largest homogenised jam and marmalade importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Portugal ($X), together comprising 44% of total imports. Sweden, France, Denmark, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Poland, Italy and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.
