In value terms, the largest illuminated sign supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together comprising 42% of total exports. These countries were followed by Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Belgium and Portugal, which together accounted for a further 43%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +17.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest illuminated sign importing markets in the European Union were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Austria ($X), with a combined 45% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Portugal and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.

Ireland, with a CAGR of +20.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, rising by 10% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
