The Netherlands was the major importer of iron or steel solid fuel domestic appliances in the European Union, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 33% of total imports in 2022. Imports into the Netherlands increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Germany (+11.5%), Belgium (+11.4%), France (+9.5%), Sweden (+6.3%), Poland (+5.9%), Italy (+4.4%), Denmark (+3.3%), the Czech Republic (+2.0%) and Slovakia (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Germany emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +11.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Spain (-3.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France increased by +6.8, +6.3, +3.3 and +2.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest metal solid fuel appliances importing markets in the European Union were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 59% of total imports. The Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.
