The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 31%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented the key importers of isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms in 2021, accounting for approx. 18% and 15% of total imports, respectively. Spain (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.6% share, followed by Romania (8.4%), Italy (8.4%), Hungary (6.3%), Belgium (5.6%), Austria (5.1%), France (4.8%) and Slovakia (4.7%).

Among the main importing countries, Austria, with a CAGR of +6.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by 19%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (-2.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
