From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +9.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest starter battery supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Spain ($X), together accounting for 60% of total exports. Poland, Italy, France and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.
France, with a CAGR of +8.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Slovenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of lead-acid accumulators for starting piston engines, when their volume decreased by -10.7% to X units. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, starter battery imports shrank to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

The countries with the highest levels of starter battery imports in 2022 were France (X units), Germany (X units), Italy (X units), Spain (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and the Netherlands (X units), together resulting at 75% of total import. The following importers - Belgium (X units), Sweden (X units), Austria (X units), Greece (X units), Portugal (X units) and Slovenia (X units) - together made up 14% of total imports.

Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Greece and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
Slovenia, with a CAGR of +14.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 10%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while Greece ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+3.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
