It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X units), France (X units), Italy (X units) and Romania (X units), together mixing up a 43% share of total exports. Poland (X units), Sweden (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Spain (X units), Austria (X units) and Finland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Romania (+11.4%), Italy (+9.5%), Poland (+9.5%), France (+9.2%), the Czech Republic (+8.6%), the Netherlands (+4.7%), Spain (+4.1%), Austria (+2.3%) and Sweden (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +11.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Finland (-4.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of France, Italy and Romania increased by +4.3, +4.1 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest loading machinery supplier in the European Union, comprising 37% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with an 11% share.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 19%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -2.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 4.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
