Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, shipments abroad of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 1.5% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 33%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 88%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main exporters of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in 2022, accounting for approx. 20% and 19% of total exports, respectively. France (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 12% share, followed by Sweden (12%), Spain (10%), Poland (5.3%) and Germany (5%).
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +14.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplying countries in the European Union were the Netherlands ($X), Belgium ($X) and France ($X), together comprising 51% of total exports. Spain, Sweden, Poland and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +13.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 29% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 42%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Spain ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton), while Sweden ($X per ton) and France ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+0.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in the EU
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports contracted slightly to X tons in 2022, flattening at the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 14%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
In value terms, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons), Poland (X tons), Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) represented the key importer of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the European Union, comprising 86% of total import.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +7.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 42% share of total imports. Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.
Spain, with a CAGR of +4.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 58%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Germany ($X per ton) and Belgium ($X per ton), while France ($X per ton) and Sweden ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
