Poland (X units), Spain (X units) and Belgium (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, France (+8.3%), Italy (+6.9%) and the Czech Republic (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, France emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +8.3% from 2012-2022. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (-2.5%) and Poland (-6.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (+7.8 p.p.), France (+4.3 p.p.) and Italy (+3.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Poland (-4.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest paper bag machine supplier in the European Union, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 5.8% share.

In Germany, paper bag machine exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (+9.4% per year) and Italy (+8.3% per year).

In 2022, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -10.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 41%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+9.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
