Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X units) represented the key exporter of magnetic media, not recorded, except cards with a magnetic stripe, creating 34% of total exports. Germany (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 16% share, followed by France (13%), the Czech Republic (12%), the Netherlands (8.9%) and Spain (5.3%). Italy (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the magnetic media, not recorded, except cards with a magnetic stripe exports, with a CAGR of +33.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Czech Republic (+21.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Spain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 55% share of total exports.
Poland, with a CAGR of +20.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, waning by -34.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by 30%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, magnetic media imports fell modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 28%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Spain was the main importing country with an import of around X units, which amounted to 41% of total imports. France (X units) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Poland (11%), Germany (11%), Italy (7.1%) and the Czech Republic (5.3%). Belgium (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, the largest magnetic media importing markets in the European Union were Italy ($X), Spain ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 48% of total imports. France, the Czech Republic, Poland and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
In terms of the main importing countries, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +12.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -21.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
