The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The countries with the highest levels of non-cellular polypropylene film imports in 2021 were Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Austria (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Greece (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Luxembourg (X tons), together reaching 88% of total import.

Poland, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Greece and Luxembourg lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 46%.
Luxembourg, with a CAGR of +10.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 23% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in the Czech Republic ($X per ton) and the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Austria ($X per ton) and Spain ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+5.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
