From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to metal non-electric bell exports from the Netherlands stood at +14.6%. At the same time, Poland (+21.7%), Spain (+15.3%), Belgium (+11.7%), France (+3.3%), Italy (+2.0%) and Germany (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +21.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Austria (-13.9%) and Denmark (-22.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 64% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, Italy, France, Austria, Spain and Denmark, which together accounted for a further 30%.

Poland, with a CAGR of +39.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 2.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +71.9% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
