Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

At the same time, Romania (+16.3%), Spain (+13.2%), the Netherlands (+9.8%), Denmark (+6.9%), France (+6.6%), Italy (+6.1%), the Czech Republic (+6.0%), Belgium (+4.9%), Sweden (+4.7%) and Poland (+3.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +16.3% from 2012-2021. Austria experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the Netherlands, Romania and Spain increased by +2.6, +1.9 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported nuts (prepared or preserved) in the European Union, comprising 30% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 9.2% share.
